Rehearse a mixed sale with a loose quantity, a contractor account purchase, a special-order collection and an uncertain return. Use the proposed scanners, printers and ordinary staff permissions. Acceptance should show that payment, stock and customer commitments reconcile, including a transaction that must be paused for a supervisor rather than completed through an improvised override.
Understand the decision
A queue builds while a barcode fails and another customer asks to collect part of a special order. Those interruptions reveal whether the process is usable beyond a practiced demo. Include a shift handover so unresolved work must be understandable to someone who did not start the transaction.
Work through the requirements
- Test representative counter transactions together
- Introduce a scan failure and approval exception
- Reconcile the shift and hand over unfinished work
| Record or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Counter test basket | Combines packaged loose and special-order goods |
| Approval exception record | Shows why a transaction paused |
| Shift handover | Lists unfinished customer commitments |
What would a passing test show?

Watch for this failure
Fast scanning alone does not prove counter readiness. A usable process must also handle missing identity, partial collection and approval delays without losing the customer’s place or leaving stock and payment records in contradictory states after the shift.
Continue the evaluation
This example defines what to verify, rather than promising a particular Odoo feature. Keep a record of the demonstrated result, configuration, unresolved gaps and person who accepts it.
