Define the exact shade, size and physical contents accepted by the customer before completing the sale. Keep the promotional offer distinct from the underlying stock identity. The test should show that a changed shade or substituted component follows the approved commercial rule and that replenishment reflects the items actually supplied rather than an ambiguous set description.
Understand the decision
A customer chooses a promotional set but requests a different shade for one component. The shelf offer, cashier screen and supplier pack may describe different combinations. The review should identify whether that change is permitted and how the physical stock and customer receipt will explain the accepted arrangement.
Work through the requirements
- Confirm the offer’s approved component choices
- Identify the actual shade and size supplied
- Reconcile the sale with component stock
| Record or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Offer composition | Defines permitted product combinations |
| Variant identity | Records the supplied shade and size |
| Customer sale evidence | Explains the accepted promotional arrangement |
What would a passing test show?
Use these hypothetical cases in a demonstration. Mark the evidence you have reviewed, then download the checklist. Selections stay in this tab.
Watch for this failure
A product image or set name does not establish the shade and size actually supplied. Keep the physical identifiers visible, and do not let a promotion shortcut silently substitute a component or create stock movements that staff cannot reconcile.
Continue the evaluation
This example defines what to verify, rather than promising a particular Odoo feature. Keep a record of the demonstrated result, configuration, unresolved gaps and person who accepts it.
