Assign engineering ownership to approved design and placement data, while defining the operational records that Odoo should maintain. Map board revisions, component identifiers and build references explicitly. The interface should transmit an approved package and retain its identity, rather than allowing an unreviewed file export to overwrite instructions for a build already underway.
Understand the decision
In a hypothetical workflow, engineering releases a placement-file update while purchasing changes a supplier reference for an unchanged component. The assembly team needs to recognize that these are different events. A restarted import must not create a second build or silently replace the revision already issued to the line.
Work through the requirements
- Define authoritative owners for design and operational fields.
- Version the approved build package and mappings.
- Record import results and route conflicts for review.
| Record or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Ownership map | Assign design and production responsibilities. |
| Build package | Identify approved files and revision. |
| Interface receipt | Record accepted, rejected and repeated events. |
What would a passing test show?
Use these hypothetical cases in a demonstration. Mark the evidence you have reviewed, then download the checklist. Selections stay in this tab.
Watch for this failure
A shared folder containing the latest file is not a sufficient revision policy. Preserve the package actually used for each build, and decide how corrections apply to unfinished work before automating engineering exports into operational instructions.
Continue the evaluation
This example defines what to verify, rather than promising a particular Odoo feature. Keep a record of the demonstrated result, configuration, unresolved gaps and person who accepts it.
