THE DIRECT ANSWER

Record which components were delivered, accepted, rejected or retained for a later decision, with evidence linked to the original order. Separate the customer remedy from supplier recovery and physical stock disposition. Test a partial acceptance so the process can explain both the customer’s usable furniture and the outstanding replacement or repair obligation.

Understand the decision

A dining set arrives with usable chairs and a damaged table component. The customer keeps part of the order while the delivery crew returns another part. The review should preserve that mixed outcome rather than treating the entire order as either fully delivered or fully returned.

Work through the requirements

  1. Capture acceptance by component and condition
  2. Record the agreed customer remedy
  3. Track the returned item and supplier recovery

Watch for this failure

A single delivered checkbox cannot explain partial acceptance of a multi-piece order. Keep customer commitments and returned components distinct, and do not close the incident merely because the delivery vehicle returned or a credit was entered.

Continue the evaluation

This example defines what to verify, rather than promising a particular Odoo feature. Keep a record of the demonstrated result, configuration, unresolved gaps and person who accepts it.
