Record accepted pieces, rework candidates and scrapped pieces as distinct outcomes with an approved disposition. Keep the original batch identifiable while additional machining occurs. The scheduler and customer-service team should see which quantity can ship now and which still needs work, measurement or a commercial decision.
Understand the decision
In a hypothetical batch of thirty bushings, twenty-four pass measurement, four need another finishing pass and two cannot be recovered. The production count alone cannot explain the customer commitment. The review must connect material usage, inspection results and the six-piece delivery gap.
Work through the requirements
- Count outcomes after the inspection decision.
- Authorize the rework operation and owner.
- Reconcile final accepted pieces to the order.
| Record or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Batch outcome | Separate good, rework and scrap. |
| Disposition note | Authorize the next machining step. |
| Delivery balance | Track the remaining customer quantity. |
What would a passing test show?
Use these hypothetical cases in a demonstration. Mark the evidence you have reviewed, then download the checklist. Selections stay in this tab.
Watch for this failure
Recording all machine output as finished goods makes later inspection failures look like unexplained stock loss. Decide where acceptance occurs and ensure the production and warehouse teams use the same definition of a completed part.
Continue the evaluation
This example defines what to verify, rather than promising a particular Odoo feature. Keep a record of the demonstrated result, configuration, unresolved gaps and person who accepts it.
