Test completion and packing at the variant level, including rejected garments and a short size run. The order should remain visibly incomplete where commitments remain outstanding, even if another size has excess units. Dispatch instructions and customer decisions must show whether a partial assortment is accepted or the shipment should wait.
Understand the decision
For a sample rehearsal, most shirts pass inspection, but one size has a seam defect and another size finishes above plan. The customer needs balanced store packs. The team must prevent a misleading overall completion percentage from authorizing a shipment that contains the wrong assortment for that customer.
Work through the requirements
- Record inspection outcomes by garment variant.
- Build the proposed pack against the approved matrix.
- Approve partial shipment or replacement production explicitly.
| Record or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Variant completion | Show accepted and rejected quantities. |
| Pack instruction | Define the required assortment. |
| Customer decision | Record accepted delivery changes. |

Watch for this failure
Aggregate production totals can conceal a commercially unusable assortment. Acceptance should compare the actual packed variants with the customer’s order, not merely confirm that the factory produced the expected total number of garments across all sizes.
