Preserve the customer’s exact product, pack and recurring instruction, then obtain approval before substituting another item. Keep a delayed order distinguishable from a cancelled recurrence. The test should show how the customer’s decision reaches fulfilment and any payment workflow without implying that a similar product name makes an alternative nutritionally suitable.
Understand the decision
A regular customer expects the same food bag each cycle, but the selected size is unavailable and a supplier offers another formulation. The review should separate stock convenience from the customer’s product decision. It must also show what happens to the next recurring order if only this delivery changes.
Work through the requirements
- Confirm the exact recurring product instruction
- Request a decision for the current shortage
- Preserve or revise future recurrence explicitly
| Record or decision | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Repeat-order instruction | Records product pack and recurrence |
| Substitution approval | Documents the customer’s accepted change |
| Cycle exception | Separates this delivery from future orders |
What would a passing test show?

Watch for this failure
Do not infer dietary suitability from a stock substitution or let one exceptional delivery rewrite every future order. Customer approval and product-specific judgment are separate from the technical ability to map one SKU to another in a recurring workflow.
Continue the evaluation
This example defines what to verify, rather than promising a particular Odoo feature. Keep a record of the demonstrated result, configuration, unresolved gaps and person who accepts it.
