Consider a hypothetical bracket order whose hole pattern changes after quotation but before cutting. The customer emails a replacement PDF while the estimator still has the earlier material allowance. The review must establish who accepts the change and how purchasing and the cutting operator receive the same approved version.

Replacing the attachment without preserving its decision trail makes a later dispute difficult to resolve. A filename alone is weak evidence when two PDFs share that name; define a revision identifier and approval owner.
